the sam bible III
<<2002-09-02 - 12:48 am>>

so anyway, i'm at sam's house, and this is my favorite story for the next five years to come.

i was looking around online (because that's our tradition) for an article on sigur ros i found on the gay magazine site place and then when i found it, after like ten minutes of searching, i started reading it aloud to sam while he happily plucked away at his guitar. then i got to this part about jonsi playing his guitar with a violin bow and sam was all like "what?" and so i read it again and then, all excited-like, i started to explain it to him. because sam is, yes- a GENIUS, he has a violin bow lurking in the corners of his makeshift home studio. (ooh, that reminds me- we have to make up a name for his studio, cos you know, sigur ros's studio is called 'alafoss', and.. um... yeah!) and so he picked it up and ran it over the strings of his acoustic guitar like a violin or something, and it sounded really nice. i dunno, it was like this big adrenaline rush for me... probably just teenybopper fan-love, since my friend is ACTUALLY playing the guitar JUST like a member of one of my favorite bands. but i digress...

anyway, they have a review of sorts of sam's show for envyfest here. he TOLD me to talk about it.

anyway, we're sort of listening to sigur ros's 'hafssol' (i think i spelled that very, very wrong) and sam's playing his acoustic guitar so i can't hear the song, so i hate him. i want him to burn a cd with this song on it before i leave. seriously. i can't live without it- until i order von and von brigdi (also spelled wrong, but that's because i don't feel like doing accents) from iceland. they're really expensive, but that's okay. i'm willing to spend my life's savings. all for sigur ros.

and in other news... MAN LOVE
